Together with our local skilled Maasai artisans, we create eco fashion jewellery, without sacrificing style or the gifts of the earth. Natural grass beads are dyed in a wide range of colors and strung together with hand blown Czech glass beads to produce our signature Zulugrass bracelets in single, multi strand, and bangle style.
Philip and Katy Leakey's inspiration gave birth to Zulugrass - the beautiful jewellery handcrafted by experts, the Maasai women of Kenya. Zulugrass continues to provide much needed and desired opportunity for these wonderful women and their families.
The Leakey Collection's Zulugrass jewelry provides handmade accessories and offers a sustainable way of life for the nomadic people of Kenya. Not only are the Massai women paid for their work and given the flexibility they need to maintain their jobs, 5% of profits go back to supporting infrastructure in the Rift Valley of Kenya.
